Guess what...you actually get a 4x magification with this scope. Most 4x are actually 2.5X but this one does go up to 6X.
Very happy with this scope at the moment. I want to see how this scope holds up and if it holds zero. As of now, can't get a better scope for the money ($25.00).
What you will want to do if mounting to a semi-auto handgun:
Use mounting rings that are at least 1" high. This will allow you to use your Iron sights at close distances (10-20 yards) AND also switch to the scope for further distances (30-50 yards).
I mounted this to a Smith/Wesson .22A and can get an 1" spread with the Iron sights (10-20 yards) and also get a 2" spread with the scope (30-50 yards). If you mount with regular rings, you won't be able to see the Iron sights and no one wants to use the scope @ 10 yards. Happy shooting...it's your right!

This scope is for my SKS. I got this one because it is short with some power and cheap. It is short enough that I don't need a brass deflector and still be able to use stripper clips. This scope is shorter than most 4x scopes. I would of like a 9x power scope, but they are ether too long or cost to much for my budget. It is not a great scope, but a good short scope with some power.

I have this scope mounted on a side-rail mount on my ak47. It suits this rifle and setup perfectly, because of its light weight and short overall length. At 2x it is easy enough to shoot with both eyes on target, and at 6x, I can spot 7.62 mm holes at 100 yards. The scope is holding zero after 200 7.62x39mm rounds, and I expect it will handle many more without a problem. Of course, you can get a better scope for many purposes for equal money, but none of them will be as compact and lightweight as this scope is. This scope seems suited to very compact carbines and other rifles that need to be kept lightweight. It is much clearer and brighter than a 2.5x20 shotgun scope that I have, but about the same size and weight. I also find the 2x more useful than the 2.5x for rapid target acquisition, and the 6x setting is definitely better for hitting smaller targets.
