I have this scope mounted to my Marlin 357 lever action 1894C rifle.
It seems to hold zero well, I shot two boxes of 357 magnum and was able to hit water jugs at 50 yards pretty easily, shooting offhand.
I have never tried any of the more expensive holographic red dot sights, but for the $$ this one seems to work fine. It is also nice and small, so it doesn't mess up the trim look of the lever carbine.
I didn't have the problem of not maintaining zero when switching between dot reticles.

I bought one of these sights to use for recreational target shooting with my Mini-14. The most serious drawback is that I can't keep the windage zeroed. The provided instructions are inadequate, so it's difficult to tell if I'm following the correct procedure for sighting it in, but nothing I've tried works.
There is small set screw on the right side described as a windage/elevation locking screw. With it loosened, the windage will shift suddenly by as much as 8" at 50 yards. Tightening it skews the adjustment somewhat--which would be OK if it stayed put--and it seems to come loose after a few shots every time anyway.
Second serious flaw: the various reticles do not align with each other. Switching from one to the other significantly changes the position of the dot in my sight picture.
Third flaw: on all reticle settings, the dot is somewhat fuzzy.
I can't really recommend this sight for any purpose except decoration. I'm returning...Read more

I shoulda checked amazon before i bought it. I got mine at Gander for 70 bucks but i still think it was a great deal. I threw it on my 870 and it works great. Holds zero well even with 3 inch slugs. Pretty much only use the small dot, i think its a 2 or 3 moa. Havent had a chance to go long range yet but from 30 yds i was blastin one big hole. Battery also lasts forever if you remember to turn it off, i think its rated for 50 hrs, plus they give you a spare. Also put it on my berretta neos (.22) and consistently shoot a 1 inch group standing at 15 yds.
