BARSKA Red Dot 50mm Riflescope

The feel of this item is wonderful. It's large making it easy to get a quick look through. The case is VERY solid, the mount is one of the best I've seen on a cheap sight. I'm not really big on the knobs, they're not actually windage/elevation knobs they're o-ringed dust covers that unscrew to get to the adjusters. It's not my favorite design but it is very good quality, with adjustment screws that have a nice positive click feel. The brightness knob gives a great range from really bright to very light.


The cons. Optically mine was complete junk. I thought being this large it would be easier for them to get the lenses reasonably precise. Parallax is off by 5-6 inches at 20 ft, at 50 yards where it's supposed to be parallax free it's off by about 2-3 feet. This makes it unusable. inexpensive, easy to install, solid construction, superb sight view. I had also purchased a smaller mm scope to compare but returned it as the dot was too faint and target acquisition was slower. 50mm is the way to go. I do not understand why people pay over $200 for similiar scopes.

Front internal optics crooked. Obviously not right. Some one else reported similar type of problem.
Won't buy another Barska.

On a side note - Kudos to Amazon for easy/no hassle returns.
