Weaver Multi-Slot Base System - 414T for Remington 597

This base system fit perfectly on my 597. It came with longer screws to replace the short stubby ones that came stock with the 597. I used my weaver quad lock rings with the mount and installed a big ol' scope on it. Nothing moved until a couple of weeks later when a groundhog found itself right between the cross hairs. Thats when i noticed my scope was wobbling. I rushed home to take off my scope and tighten the screws (with a dab of loctite permanent) I went to sight in my rifle and it was still dead on, even after i took my scope off and put it back on. Apparently you dont need to spend 40 bucks on a picatinny rail because here is a rail that is basically the same thing but 30 dollars cheaper.

If you have a 597 with no iron sights this is the mount for you. Any sight from the holographic to scope fits great, good solid mount, no problems whatsoever. Fits perfect with the included screws. Just loctite, and you are good to go!
