The item was received as a new item, on time. The scope itself was defective in that two of the adjustors (elevation and windage) were inoperable - they would not release so that the knobs could be turned. Although the scope was clearly improperly manufactured, BSA would not repair or replace it under the factory warranty without me having to pay the shipping for the repair. I considered this to be unsatisfactory and returned the item through Amazon. Some variation depending on revision you receive., Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: BSA 6-24X40 Contender Series Rifle Scope with Illuminated Red, Green and Blue Glass Etched Mil-Dot Reticle (Sports) Bought 2 of these scopes, one for my Savage 112 30-06 (left-handed bolt), and one for my dad's Savage 308 (right-handed bolt). Just be warned, there appears to be some variation on the scope design (mostly the illumination knob location) depending on how old stock is at some locations. One of the scopes I received had the illumination knob on top of the scope, while the other had the illumination knob on the right-side. Luckily I'm left-handed, so the scope with the knob on the right side will not restrict my bolt. The scope that arrived with the illumination knob on top will be mounted to my dad's 308, so it will not restrict his bolt.
Overall, great build quality and clarity. Can't wait to test these on the range. Just watch out for slight variations in where the illumination knob is located, I'm guessing corrected in a later revision due to blocking right-handed bolt actions. |
