Product Description
The Elite 2.5-16x 42mm is outstanding versatility with the added long-range potential of our DOA reticle. Experience the full power of Elite engineering. The single most powerful riflescope on earth. In range of magnification, light transmission and all-weather clarity, the new Elite 6500 reigns supreme over every other. The 2.5-16x and 4.5-30x magnification options give you unmatched versatility-from jump shooting big game to the longest shots at the smallest targets, no scope has this kind of range. And for 2009, we've added a 2.5-8x32mm model optimized for African safari and other applications best met with a compact riflescope. Super-premium fully multi-coated lenses transmit the brightest, sharpest images possible. Our patented Rainguard HD coating gives you deadly clarity in foul weather like no other technology available today. All this performance is then wrapped in a one-piece 30mm tube tested impervious to severe impact. Rainguard® Bushnell’s permanent, patented, hydrophobic (water-repellant) lens coating prevents fogging by causing condensation from rain, sleet, snow or even your own breath to bead up into much smaller droplets than on standard coatings. Smaller droplets scatter less light which results in a clearer, brighter view. Now the hunter won’t miss the shot of a lifetime because of rain or accidentally breathing on his eyepiece.

The Dead On Accurate (DOA) reticle with Rack Bracket technology offers extended-yardage aiming points--enabling you to shoot with precision out to 600 yards.
DOA 600--Dead On Accurate Reticle: The DOA 600 reticle for centerfire rifles is designed to dramatically extend your effective shooting range and allow you to judge your target's trophy quality in record time. Featuring Rack Bracket reference lines that represent the distance between an average deer's ears, the DOA reticle helps you accurately gauge the size of whitetail and mule deer antlers at distances that would challenge standard optics. If the Rack Bracket lines fit, you will know the approximate distance immediately--enabling you to shoot with precision out to 600 yards.
The DOA 600 reticle for centerfire rifles provides aiming points from 100 to 600 yards in 100-yard increments, compatible with today's most popular deer-hunting bullet/load combinations.

This review is from: Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16x42mm DOA Riflescope (Sports)
I bought the 2x16x42 DOA model. I am using this for PCP air rifles and purchased it for it's side focusing knob; minimum focusing distance and DOA reticle. And to a degree...the company's reputation. Though the DOA reticle is designed around average sized rack/antler widths, it is equally beneficial when set to be used for varmint hunting at distances appropriate for air rifles. The knobs, all of them, are smoooth from the get go. The targets remain focused when changing between magnifications. The sight picture is bright & 'wide open' thanks to the 30mm tube. I will be buying future scopes with the 30mm configuration. In part i purchased this scope because of its wide spectrum of magnification (2 x 16); something crucial to the airgun shooter. Sometimes your plinking at 50ft. other times 250ft.(or more). The smallish profile of the scope (42mm) was a particularly important requirement. I needed all the above with a size complimentary to lighter/smaller air rifles. This is...Read more
