I wanted a scope cover for my Nikon Buckmaster 6-18x40 Riflescope (SF Matte, BDC) - great scope by the way. This one fit perfectly. I used it on my .308 and so far no issues with it coming loose or turning. I bought one of these for my Trijicon TR-24 that I have mounted on one of my black rifles; it lasted little over two months out in the woods before a branch finally tore the flip-up cap completely off. To be honest I never would've considered a lens cap as a wear-down, consumable item (well, except for having one fall off and subsequently losing it), but there it is with these Butler Creek covers.The weak point is the plastic hinge point; the plastic used to make the cover and the hinge are is molded all in one piece. Its key liability is that the material is soft and prone to tearing; you will not confuse this 'polymer' with Magpul or Tango Down quality.
