as one might suspect from Leupold, this is a quality red dot. it's light enough to mount atop slides (I've used mine on H-K, Sig) and sturdy enough for magnum revolvers (again, i've used mine on Ruger and S&W). Auto on and auto shut-off features are important for me as my sights have a tendency to be left on. For target shooting, order the 3.5 MOA red dot, the 7 is way too big for targets - it's more for self-defense or LE applications. I have these and the Burris Fastfire II. IMHO the Leupold is a much better red dot. However, it costs nearly twice as much. I'm not sure i would say that it's twice the value of the Burris. If money is no option, the Leupold is the way to go.
