Mini 14 Muzzle Brake/Black

Caution:

Although a finely machined piece of steel, this will not fit Mini 14 series S/N 196 +. None of which is mentioned on Amazon. I had to order it and contact LG outdoors to find this out. I'll be returning it as well as a scope that I was shipped two of instead of one.

This brake is advertised to fit earlier models. One reviewer said he had a "fitting problem, so maybe it fits the Ranch Rifle". So there is confusion as to just which rifle this is for.

Here is the deal, this does not fit any Mini 14 between Serial #s 181 up to 188 which includes the early Ranch Rifle (1978 - 1995). Whether it fits serial #180 (1974 -1977) I am not sure, but in studying an old photo, it appears to be made for that rifle. Thus the advertised term "earlier". I believe they mean "earliest".

MOST PEOPLE own the 181 group or newer. Don't buy this item for that lot group. The correct brake for this group is just under 4" (3.97") with a high narrow slot that allows the brake to slide all the way on to match the sight mount screw. The advertised brake has a shorter, wider slot, apparently designed for the real old shorter, further forward sight.

This is a good quality muzzle break, and it added the finishing touch to my rifle.
