Amazon.com Product Description
The first Nikon riflescope to incorporate extra-low-dispersion (ED) glass, the Nikon Monarch 8-32x50 riflescope eliminates chromatic aberration while delivering unmatched image clarity and resolution at long ranges. The riflescope offers such features as a one-piece, 1-inch main body tube; a creative Eyebox design with a huge ocular that provides a 4x magnification range and 4 to 3.5 inches of constant eye relief without sacrificing the field of view; an ultra ClearCoat system for 95 percent light transmission; and fully multicoated, super-high-performance lenses. After the lenses are cut and polished, Nikon coats them with multiple layers of anti-reflective compounds. The compounds serve to boost light transmission, improve contrast (to pull game out of its surroundings), deliver true color rendition and flare-free viewing, and enhance the overall image quality. The scope's BDC reticle, meanwhile, is perhaps the most compelling feature, as its trajectory-compensating system is designed and calibrated to provide fast, simple aiming points for various shot distances. The unique system integrates a series of small "ballistic circles" to produce an unobstructed view of the target.

In addition, the riflescope is prepared for years of reliable service thanks to its 100-percent waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof housing. The scope is O-ring sealed, oxygen purged, and nitrogen filled to prevent fogging, while the waterproof performance is guaranteed, even with the windage and elevation caps off. Other details include a quick focus eyepiece; a locking side-focus parallax adjustment; interchangeable turret technology with target-style windage and elevation adjustment knobs and caps; enhanced ring spacing that allows you to mount the scope on virtually any rifle; and a unique zoom control with rearward facing numbers. Sunshade adaptable (oversize adjustment knobs and a sunshade are included), the riflescope carries Nikon's full lifetime warranty.

Very nice scope. I got this for my DPMS LR-308 and I love it.. Was packaged very nice. Its comparable to a Leupold mark 4 with out the 1,000$ price tag.. Crystal clear all the way up to the 32 power zoom. I would, and have recommended this scope to a friend. And you cant lose with the Lifetime warranty either..

So far it's a pretty nice scope. I've got it mounted on a Remington 700 short barrel .223. I spend most of my time with it at 200 or 300 yards, haven't had a chance to take it varminting yet.

At 200 yards it's a great target shooter, 300 or more I have to use shoot-n-c targets or pull out the spotting scope (those .223 holes are pretty small, might be a bit easier with a larger caliber).

It's held zero just fine over about 1500 rounds and a little bit of rough treatment. I'd recommend it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but not great., November 25, 2011

Had a hard time attaching this scope. The windage and elevation adjustments were difficult and limited in there range. I thought I had a mis aligned scope, but did some research and found that others were having the same problem with this scope, just not enough range in the available adjustments. using the nikon m223 mount also.. I eventually just pushed on the scope while tightening the screws for the mount. I would have preferred the mount to sit squarely and snuggly to the rail and the scope to adjust.. I think I might switch to some basic ring mounts and see if those align everything better. It looks very nice on the rifle. the eye relief was very good for this higher magnification scope. The light capture is very sensitive so you have to be very aware from where you are shooting whether to use the shade that comes with it or not. Good scope for the money, but I was expecting a little better from nikon. My nikon prostaff is as good as this one, and it is supposedly in a...Read more
