This review is from: NIKON M-223 BDC 600 8487 2-8x32 Riflescope (Black) (Electronics) This system from Nikon, both scope and mount are beautifully designed for the AR-platform rifles, both carbine and rifle length. Mounting is of course a "piece of cake", optics superb and adjustment logical, precise and repeatable. I am only recently returning to shooting the AR, having been an owner of a very early Colt AR-15 in the mid-sixties; had to sell it at one time and always wanted a replacement. I have this scope mounted on a flat-top Smith & Wesson M&P-15 and am very pleased with both the installation and the performance. Sighting in was not a chore with a bore-mounted laser and the results have been everything I've hoped for. Recommended to all. 8 of 12 people found the following review helpful: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: NIKON M-223 BDC 600 8487 2-8x32 Riflescope (Black) (Electronics) I was looking for a scope for my AR for longer targets. I am currently using a TA01 ACOG - the 4x doesn't cut it for me at long range and I liked the idea of a BDC reticle for three gun matches. I also purchased the Nikon -20 MOA mount and intstalled the scope on one of my ARs that consistently shoots 1 MOA or less groups. At the range, I shot some 25 yard groups at 2x, 4x, and 8x. The groups expanded as I raised the power on the scope. This seems backwards to me. At 100 yards, the 4x group was reasonable, maybe 2-3 MOA. But the real surprise was the 8x setting - I could only get 7-8 MOA using the 8x magnification. To be sure that there was nothing wrong with the combo rifle / scope, I placed the same scope on another rifle with SUB MOA performance and got the same results. The ammo was handloaded by a perfectionist buddy of mine and I can shoot a 0.5 MOA with the ammo and an ACOG at 100 yards. The range I am shooting at only goes out to 100 yards. Anyway, I shot targets using the 2nd and third circles and compared them to the elevation expected from the Nikon Spot On Ballistic Match Technology program and it all matched up for me. I used factory Winchester Supreme ammo too. I have also have 3 of the M-223 3-12x42SF with the Rapid action Turrets. These are a couple of my favorite optics to use. I have hit targets out ot 600 yards with the help of these scopes. |
