Nikon optics clarity lives up to all my expectations. It's still a 3x9x40 and the magnification isn't any more than any other cheaper model scope of the same size, but the clarity is awesome. Low light transmission is everything it's touted to be. I purposely stayed past dusk, much longer than I normally would just to see how long I could still see through this scope, and it did not disappoint. When it was dark enough that I could barely see to walk back out, I could still see through this scope, and that is exactly what I was after. If you can't afford a larger model, then get the 3x9x40 you won't be disappointed with it, but if you can spare the extra cash, I would go for the 50mm objective lens and a bit more power.

I purchased this scope to put on a new Tikka T3 .243 rifle I had just bought. The price was hard to pass up, even though I had looked at the Monarch line. However, being new to scopes I didn't want to spend a lot of money before I knew what I really needed.

Getting this scope sighted in was an absolute breeze, and I had never done this before. After getting on the paper, I simply adjusted the windage/elevation knobs the appropriate amount of clicks, and set my cross hairs back on the bulls eye. 3 shots, 3 bulls eye hits. A friend of mine bought the same scope at the same time, and he sighted his in just as easily. I did not experience any eye fatigue during the sight-in session, but I honestly haven't been looking through this scope for extended periods of time yet either.

I have had this scope mounted on my AR for a year or so now. Ive smoked lots of prairie dogs,and turkeys with it. It is durable as it rides in the back of my car about 80 % of the time in a soft case and always holds Zero.
No problems at all. It was easy to sight in and it has good light transmission. I was actually considering putting one on my 700 but have been convinced otherwise. I can say nothing negative about the scope. ALL Good. My buddy has one as well . Hes been using it for two plus years. He loves his.
