NIKON'S MUZZLELOADING RIFLESCOPES The first muzzleloading scope to have a Bullet Drop Compensating (BDC) reticle, the Omega 3-9x40 lets you realize the full potential of your muzzleloader. Designed for .50 caliber muzzleloaders using a 150-grain Pyrodex charge (pellets or powder) and a 250-grain bullet, the unique Nikon BDC 300 allows the shooter to accurately and effectively shoot out to 300 yards, taking the guesswork out of where to hold on longer shots. Accuracy you would only expect from a cernterfile rifle is now possible with a Muzzleloader. The Omega 3-9x40 features, the Nikon BDC 300 Reticle calibrated for ballistic tipped sabot muzzleloader bullets, compact size ideal for all Muzzleloaders and five full inches of eye relief mean you can comfortably and safely mount this scope on even the hardest kicking muzzleloaders. With a super bright exit pupil of 7.2mm and Nikon’s fully multicoated lens you can hunt right up to the end of legal shooting time. The durable one-inch tube features hand turn 1/4 MOA adjustment and a 100-yard parallax setting. Multicoated lens provide 92% Light Transmission for excellent low light performance. “No matter what a hunter’s choice is for a firearm, Nikon has a scope built specifically for that application,” said Nikon Sport Optics General Manager Jon Allen. “From the SlugHunter line to the Omega line to the Encore line, Nikon has more pursuit specific tools than any other optics company.” Backed by Nikon's legendary Full Lifetime Warranty, the Omega Muzzleloading Riflescope is the choice for any muzzleloader.

I bought this scope to replace the cheap one that come with my muzzleloader. I chose this one over the leading competitor due to the 5" eye relief (the competitors has a 3" eye relief). This is a very nice feature as it allows me to quickly bring to scope up to target without having to wiggle around to get a full view. The scope is well made and the camo finish matched my rifle exactly. Sighting it in was a breeze. I have not tried the BDC yet, but that will be a nice feature, too. I used the existing mounting rings, which put the scope a bit lower than I would have liked, but still works very nicely (had to remove the rear iron sight). Very pleased with this scope and definitely recommend it.

I did alot of research before buying the # 8458 Omega scope. I now have four of these on my lever action repeater rifles. The rectile is perfect with it's 5" eye relief. It took very little time to sight in after useing my laser bore sighter. One of these I have on a Henry .44 Magnum rifle and it stands up to the shock very well even on the larger rifle. It's a great product, I gave it 5 stars becuase for me,it's perfect for what I use them for. They are also great to just useing at the range for a little target practice.

This is the second Omega I've owned. The first was mounted on a T/C Omega a couple of years ago and it performed well. The extended eye relief was my primary incentive for buying this scope and I wasn't disappointed. You won't get "kissed" by this scope. I was impressed with scope holding it's zero with all the pounding it get from the muzzloader.

I mounted this Nikon Omega on a Thompson Center Triumph with a Talley medium one piece mount. There was plenty of room to access the hammer under the scope - even with gloves on. Right out of the box the scope was only two inches low at 50 yards. It only took a few shots to zero in the scope at 100 yards using 150 gr of Triple Seven and T/C 250 gr Super Glide Sabots.

Once I had it sighted in at 100 yards I tested the BDC reticle with three shots at 200 yards. I can't foresee a circumstance where I'd ever take a 200 yard shot at a deer with a muzzleloader, but was curious to see how the Nikon performed. The...Read more
