This review is from: Osprey Picatinny Rail Mount for Pistols, Mounts on Handgun Rails Below the Barrel, Accepts Scopes & Accessories on Top (Misc.) Biggest issue with this particular scope/sighting mount is that I've YET to find a gun that will allow this device to get the equipment rails CENTERED on the centerline of the pistol it's being attached to. If your sighting device doesn't have enough windage adjustment range to compensate for the dual centerline, that scope or electronic device will ultimately be useless when fastened down to this mount.
The level of finish is about what anyone can expect for this mount at this price point. It scratches easily and seems to mount best to full-sized semi-auto pistols. But the length of available top rail is more than enough to mount a pistol scope to. I currently have this mount and an NCStar pistol scope mounted on my S&W M&P 9 Pro. Once everything was sighted (using a laser bore sight) and zeroed, the mount proved dead on reliable. A scope on a semi-auto pistol isn't really my first choice for shooting, but at least this devices is a tangible proof-of-concept. Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Osprey Picatinny Rail Mount for Pistols, Mounts on Handgun Rails Below the Barrel, Accepts Scopes & Accessories on Top (Misc.) there are two picatinny rail mount scope brackets on amazon, that i found for use on a pistol. this one looks like it has a usable rail underneath, but note the description does not state that you can use accessories on bottom. unless your accessory does not rise toward the barrel past the narrowest point in the rail groove, you will be unable to fit anything on it. also, mine has a slight twist to it, and when mounted, is about 5 degrees to the left of straight down weapon sights. i am going to take a vise to it and see if i can twist it enough to make it straight. if i had to do it again, i would probably get the other one i had seen here.. it doesnt look like a rail on bottom, but maybe its a little straighter. but it still looks cool. ability to mount a dot sight on a semi pistol is worth a little trouble. :) |
