Pentax Gameseeker HS20 Dot Scope

I purchased the HS 20 on a whim. I noticed it when doing a general search for halo-sights and was intrigued by the fact I had never seen anything about it. I searched the web for additional information and it was barren. I took the gamble and did not regret it. I found the HS 20 to be ruggedly built and sturdy. Mounting and bore-sighting a snap. I then took it out for some final sighting in and found it to be easily fine tuned though needing very little adjustment after the careful bore-sighting. It holds true after sighting in and I can say it's as easy to use and accurate as the big dollar sight. I took it to work and the gun crowd was wowed by it and one ordered theirs that evening. I only find it lacking in that there is no protective cover with the sight. I have had to make one as when mounted on an AR some unintended abuse is inevitable. Great product and I recommend it to anyone not hung-up on the big name.

I got this because I know pentax puts out some fine products. The shipping was very cheap and arrived from NJ to CA in 3 days...Post Mail!! Can't beat that! I mounted this optic on my tactical 12ga. The lens popped out and to the ground after 4 shots. I quickly discovered it was an optic for airsoft & paintball guns. The description did not specify this. Although, I got my new product and it was exactly what I ordered, it wasn't compatable with my gun. The description on the seller's ad didn't specify but I didn't inquire either. Both our bads. I rated it a 3star only because it is no good for me but I would guess, any non-firearm use of it would be well worth the money. In other words....if you have airsoft or paintball it should work perfectly. Thanks.

My usage is primarily for indoor competition. Mounted on a S&W Model 41 with a weaver rail. I previously had a Simmons 30mm tube sight mounted but found it heavy and it would lose zero occasionlly, so my priority was to get a sight with good optics and light weight.

Pros: light weight, good optics (clear and bright), easily mounted (built in mount easily attaches to weaver rail), solid construction (it appears to be solid aluminum), price, warranty (pentax no worry lifetime warranty),
Cons: This is being picky and it has not happened to me yet, but the on/off switch is side and could be turned on accidently in your range bag, Made in China (although no visible defects or reduced quality optics)

I have shot about 500 rounds and it has kept zero and the groupings have been right on. I considered the Ultradot 30mm as the best sight out there (too heavy although lighter than most and expensive), and others that were either too heavy, too expensive or poor...Read more
