The scope mount pictures are misleading. Look at all the pictures on the main page. You will see the proper image in it's packaging. I WAS FOOLED BY JUST LOOKING AT THE PICTURE PROVIDED BY AMAZON.COM. However, I lucked out and enjoy this type of mount. I can still use my accurate iron-sights quickly for the fast shot, or the scope for long distance sniper kill.

Used these rings to mount an older 3-9x scope I had laying around on a Remington 597. I wanted to be able to use the iron sights for anything close or for fast target acquisition, and the scope for longer/more precise shots. It was a little difficult to get the rings to slide onto the dovetail, but once they were on, they locked up tight. No issues with these so far.
