I am a professional pilot. An optometrist cousin introduced me to Serengeti Driver lenses over 20 yrs ago and I've never worn anything else while flying/driving/biking doing anything out in the sun. This will be my 5th or 6th pr. These are NOT polarized. The gradient is subtle but very useful when glancing from the windscreen to the instruments. I prefer the Navigator shape to the classic Aviator because the rectangular lens fits closer to my nose to better seal out that sliver of light that can be distracting at the least or blinding in extreme situations.
