5.0 out of 5 stars Great product for the price!!!, December 31, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Sightmark Tactical Red Dot Rifle Scope (Sports)
I recently purchased this particular sight after much deliberation over several different red dot sights. I am please to say I am completely satisfied. I received this sight yesterday, mounted it on my Smith & Wesson MP15OR 5.56 and fired over 300 rounds today. It took 10 rounds to get it sighted in to my satisfaction at 50 yards. I started at 15 yards and increased to 50. The final 5 rounds on paper at 50 yards were grouped about the size of a ping pong ball, which in my opinion is as good as your going to get with any red dot sight regardless of manufacture or price. The brightness of the dot was easily visible today in bright sunlight. I didn't have to go beyond the second brightness level. As I stated before I fired a total of 300 hundred rounds today and didn't have to make any further adjustments. This sight obviously is not built to the standards of an Aimpoint, but be realistic for the price difference it is a spectacular product. Unfortunately it is made in China, but what...Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome sight, December 28, 2011
This review is from: Sightmark Tactical Red Dot Rifle Scope (Sports)
This Sightmark Tactical Red Dot sight is amazing on my M&P 15-22. Looks exactly like an Aimpont except the lettering on the side. There are 5 brightness settings which is plenty bright in the daytime. I usually put it on 3 or 4. I'm not sure as to the battery life since I haven't used my first set up that came with the sight. The flip up lens caps work great and are good for keeping the glass clean from scratches from dust. The only flaw is that the rubber that keeps the battery, windage and elevation caps on is real tight and I usually have to take it off to put the caps on and off and then put the rubber back on, but it's better than loosing my caps.

I put this scope in a cantilever mount (about another $20 more) which puts this at the perfect height to co-witness with my backup iron sights (see pictures). It also came zeroed right out of the box. I'm not sure if the included mount will be like this as I use the other mount.

All in all, an absolutely perfect...Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Aimpoint Clone, November 5, 2011
This review is from: Sightmark Tactical Red Dot Rifle Scope (Sports)
For the money, you can't beat this sight. It's an amazing Aimpoint clone. Obviously, beacause you're paying under $100 and not over $400, there are some differences in the quality levels between the two. That's not to say that the quality of this sight is poor, but it's not up to the Aimpoint standard. The red dot is crisp, but it does get hard to see during daylight shooting, even at it's highest setting. The dust covers are a little flimsy, but they get the job done, and the overall construction is very sturdy.
