Simmons ProHunter riflescopes deliver bright, crystal-clear images on everything from rifles to handguns to shotguns, helping meet the demands of serious hunters everywhere. This particular scope is designed for rifles, with a limited 3 to 9x magnification and a 40mm objective lens. The scope is made using multi-coated optics and high-quality optical glass, creating the sharpest image in its class. The scope's premium TrueZero windage and elevation adjustment system, meanwhile, stays locked tight to zero through even the most strenuous hunts. And hunters will love the Quick Target Acquisition (QTA) eyepiece, which offers a constant 3.75 inches of eye relief to encourage fast, easy target locking. No matter the hunt, the Simmons ProHunter scope is ready for the challenge.

Other details include a Truplex reticle; a raised tab on the power change ring that provides an easier grip and surer adjustment; a nitrogen-purged housing to prevent fog; and an O-ring-sealed, 100-percent waterproof housing. The ProHunter's recoil-proof construction can resist 1,000 rounds from a .375 H&H magnum rifle or 12-gauge slug gun firing a 3.5-inch shell.

The ProHunter riflescope includes a precision Truplex reticle.

This review is from: Simmons Truplex Prohunter Riflescope (3-9x40, Matte) (Sports)
Simmons Prohunter scopes are one of my favorites. They can be bought for about half the price of other more expensive brands entry level scopes, but have similar quality and features. In fact, all the Simmons scopes I have owned, regardless of model, have excellent eye relief, often much better than higher dollar scopes. This allows for placing the scope in a more forward based position to prevent "scope eye" from hard hitting calibers, or simply allowing for a more flexible fit on the rifle. The optics are clear and bright, and I have used the Prohunter, Prosport, and 8-Point for several years on rifles with fairly substantial recoil, without any failures. The Prohunter also has a fairly thick set of posts, tapering down to a fine crosshair, so they are great for quick sight acquisition, brushy backgrounds, and low light conditions. If you have several rifles to scope and want a good quality solid scope with a nice eye relief range, but don't want to break the bank outfitting...Read more
