SKS Receiver Cover Tri-Rail Weaver Scope Mount

This item is deceptive by the advertising. I spent hours filing and finally grinding. They state you may have to file the tabs, but that is not the main problem. The block on the back where the keeper pin goes through had to be filed down about 3/16 of an inch and then redrilled.
The problem as I have read here is not necessarily the front tabs. The reason the bolt won't close is because the unit has to set level on the receiver, if not the bolt binds. I finally figured it out by comparing the original cover's basic design with that of this replacement. The mounting block where the pin goes is way to long / deep. If you can see any light coming through the side (or gap) cover where it joins the receiver then it is going to bind. Be sure to remove the bolt and spring as you will be testing the action many times. Given plenty, about four hours of re-engineering it can be made to fit. A rotary tool is a must or a good grinder.

A very poor product. After fitting to my rifle so I can't return it. the first problem is it binds the bolt carrier to the extent that it locks the bolt in the closed position. number to you can't tighten anything down to the rails.

No where in the description does it state that this might not fit your SKS. In the instructions, (written in extremely poor English, so you know it is NOT made in USA), it tells you to file down the edges (shown in a photo) if it does not fit properly. Of course, if you file it down, they will not take it back. I filed mine and finally got it to fit on the receiver. After getting it installed on the receiver, it was so tight a fit, that the bolt would hardly move. When it did move it just stuck where you let go. It would not close or open unless you forced it. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT. Something told me, if you have to file a gun part to make it fit, it is no good. How dangerous is that?
