Summary: I must have gotten the other guys returned scope..... 2010-07-24
Comment: Just got it. Looks cool mounts with quick mount.
Looked through it and the crosshairs were tilted to the left.....LAME.
Changed brightness settings and they were intermittent and flakey.
When zoomed to 9x, it was not clear....looked horrible.
Really too bad because it looks like a great item if it worked correctly. I could chance getting another, but I have a feeling it will be the same. I wonder if I got the other guys scope after it got sent back?
Sending it back on monday.

Summary: Gimicky bells and whistles but a great scope over all! 2010-07-22
Comment: Yeah the laser sucks, the illumination I rarely use (shooting in day light at a range), although the ilumination is clear and brightness adjustable, to me it serves no practical purpose. Now the optics are beautiful. Clear and not distorted. Zeroing is no problem either. Seems to be of rugged construction for civilian sport shooting but I wouldn't reccomend dropping it or submerging it under water. The lens caps appear to be pretty delicate to. I am satisfied with this scope and would reccomend it.

Summary: Good Value for the Money 2010-06-18
Comment: Didn't expect too much considering it was a multi-purpose scope from NCStar. I was pleasantly surprised to see the quality overall was acceptable for the investment. The dual color adjustment and the laser sighting make it a great addition to a plinker or a varmit gun. I've mounted it on a silenced M&P 15-22, and it's a great night hunter for varmits.
Don't expect Leupold or Burris quality, but this scope holds it's own in the under $200 price range for both accuracy and flexibility. When you price a similar 40mm scope and add a laser and a quick release lever, you've spent more than the $164 I did.
I would recommend this highly for any mid range daily use rifles. The quick release handle is very handy, and zeroing the scope with the laser is a quick procedure for assembly to target in a short time.
The only draw backs:
-Plastic flip up covers for the lens are very flimsy and easy to break (I am sure mine will eventually).
-Quality of fit and finish are expected in this range...it's not a $40 scope, but it's not a $500 one either.
All in all the 4-star rating is based on the type of scope, functionality and it's segment.

Summary: Junk rifle scope by NcStar. 2010-04-21
Comment: JUNK! Problems listed below....
1. The "cross hairs" are not vertical and horizontal. They are tilted at approximately 5 to 10 degrees.
2. When the rheostat knob is set to the "B" position, both the laser and illuminated reticle should come on. The laser always comes on. However, the illuminated reticle does not always light up. It seems to be intermittent. Sometimes it does work, but only visible in extremely low light level conditions.
General comment on product.... When scope is mounted to rifle, the quick release lever interferes with the charging handle on my AR15 rifle. I would have preferred large thumb screws to attach scope to picatinny rail.
I even returned the scope to the manufacturer for warranty repair. They sent it back without even doing anything to fix the problems. I want my money back or a properly functioning scope.
Dont waste $$$ on cheap stuff. As always, you get what you pay for.

Summary: Great Scope for the Price!! 2010-04-18
Comment: I purchased this scope for my AR-15 M 4. This scope was perfect for my needs. It only took a few shots to zero and most importantly, it held its zero after 30 rounds. Because it had a quick release, I then tested the return to zero by removing the scope and putting the carry handle on and shooting that way for a while. When I put the scope back on, it was still zeroed. Just remember where you had it on the rail. (I have a flat top rail by the way) I was concerned that I may have to use an elevated mount which can affect accuracy but it was unnecessary. It laid right up just fine. The front sight just blurs out of focus below the horizontal reticle so it doesn't affect visibility. I would have preferred a little more eye relief but it is not bad. The illuminated reticle is nice but it works well without it turned on. Actually, I didn't even use it since it was a very bright day. The laser was visible out to about 30 meters, after that it was difficult to see. But this was in the middle of the afternoon. All things considered, it is a fine scope.
