The Telrad Dew Shield helps keep condensation from forming on the glass plate of your Telrad. It can be flipped completely over the glass while you're getting that cup of coffee and then rotated upward to allow you to see through to the sky. The Dew Shield Plus offers the same protection but with a bonus. Inside the Dew Shield Plus is a mirror. When the shield is rotated completely backwards, the mirror acts as a right angle viewing device, letting you see the reticle in the sky without bending over the telescope or twisting your neck.

I bought this dew shield +, and I'm really happy with it!, I have a little trouble to attach it to the telrad, because the screws were a little tight and the I thought the material of the telrad could break... I was extra careful (I have a heavy hand:S).

Is a really good complement for this Excelent 1X finder scope.. I recommend it

I had no trouble fitting this to my Telrad finder. I find that the glass on my Telrad is the first part of my equipment to get dew on it at night. This shield helps stop dew forming on the glass - as long as I remember (or can be bothered) to tip it into place after each time I use the finder! A small disadvantage is that it obscures the sight through the "other" eye, which normally would look above the finder (as the other is looking through it) and help you find the object. This shield helps but is not 100% effective, so I am going to install a Telrad dew heater instead.

In my experience this is an invaluable accessory for the Telrad. Not only does the dew cover work, but it acts as a solar shield when it's folded up and sitting on my porch after an evening of viewing. The instructions are minimal and I really didn't know why it had a mirror until one evening I was fooling around with it and then said "Oh!"

As mentioned in another review, care must be taken in assembly as it is plastic and seems a tad fragile. Compared with the standard dew shield I would not hesitate and spend the few extra dollars for this one.
