These rings work great, they are tough and durable, and look awesome.
using one of the accessory rail tops,i mounted a ncstar reflex red dot on top of the rings using a 4-16x40mm centerpoint scope. makes my sig 522 a tack driver out to about 100 yards.

to deter any confusion, these rings come with both normal and piccatinny rail tops, Rings are plenty high to clear a 40mm scope on a flat rail, but get a little tight when scope covers are added, but still will work.

There are a few overpriced double level kits for a non magnifying optic on top with a scope below, but this way you can choose your reflex/red dot and also your scope type.

Sturdy enough to keep red dot secured and zeroed at 30yrds very well made and hefty

I did a fair amount of research on this before I took a chance but with this being my 3rd purchase of a TMS product I was hopeful these would be just as good as my previous two purchases....I was not let down.
I took K. Howe's review in to heart when I ordered this for my rifle. That is really what I was looking for info wise.
These things are solid!
I have a scope with a 1" tube and a 40mm objective with Butler Creek lens covers and I don't think I could go any lower.
In these mounts, with the lens covers, my scope still clears the top of the rail by approx 3.5mm or .137".
I don't care for the 6 screw design simply because its a pain to make adjustments to when needed but its not a deal breaker by any means.
I was using a TMS AR-15 mount on my Sig556 but the cheek weld was off and it just wasn't all that comfortable to use since a Sig556 and a traditional AR are so different as far as proper scope height.
