As an older shooter the eyes aren't what they used to be so I looked for different sights for my XDM 40. Bought the TRU GLO sights and was amazed at how well I could see the sight line up, and light up during the day. Fantastic difference and I would recommend them highly.

If you have ever considered keeping a handgun in your house for any sort of defensive purpose, then there are few (if any)reasons to not invest in some sort of night sights. Given the fact that almost all firearms training and practice is done in well lit situations, any tool you can use to up your game is worth the cost. So long as you can make out the faintest of silhouettes, you can still sight in on target perfectly with these. Being able to see exactly where your handgun is pointed, not just "guessing" based on muscle memory alone makes such an enormous difference. Of all the firearms in my household, the only ones kept well stashed are the ones with these installed.

Like the other reviewer stated, They make an amazing difference during the day as well. I am mildly color blind, so having such a drastic contrast between the black mold, the green dots, and my target makes all the difference between shooting a tight grouping, or outlining the targets.

In the sun, these sights light up nicely. In the house and at the indoor range, or in low light conditions, the stock white dot sights on my XD perform much better.

The sight design places a premium on protecting the light pipes and keeps the sighting dots from shining in low light conditions. The problem with these sights are twofold: The light pipes are not long enough for low light conditions and the metal sights do such a good job encasing the light pipes, no side lighting can illuminate them. If you want a sighting solution usable in low light situations, avoid these.
