This sight has excellent build quality. The lenses are clear (although the clear protective caps are a bit distorted but still useable in a hurry) and the dot is clear and crisp in all lighting. The red dot on full brightness is easy to see even in the bright arizona sun, and the green dot on low setting allows you to use it in nighttime settings without the starburst effect of some other dot sights. The tethered caps are great for adjustments in the field without loosing the caps. This is probably the best sight you can get for under $100.

During my time in the Marine Corps I only used iron sights. I mostly wanted to mount this thing to my M4 to look cool. I took it out today and put a ton of rounds down range and was impressed with my $40 purchase. Once I got this thing zeroed, it was a good day at the range. I did need to order a riser before I could use this sight so be aware of that. The see through dust covers distort the picture a little but are functional to shoot with them closed. (as I found out during a little dust storm today) I ended up adding a strip of electrical tape under the dust covers to keep them on a little tighter. Overall, great purchase.

I am used to iron sights this was an easy transition. I am using it with my Ruger 10/22 for squirrel and am able to shoot quick, accurate and keep both eyes open.
