This review is from: Vortex® Diamondback 4 - 12x40 V - Plex Reticle Riflescope (Sports)
I found out the hard way that these scopes are not fond of recoil. Didn't find similar experiences online until I looked harder after the fact...most of their reviews are brilliant. Cost me a couple of hundred dollars in ammo and multiple trips to the range and gunsmith to find out differently...fortunately we discovered the fact just days before a trip to Alaska. Very nearly ruined the trip of a lifetime. It's tempting to cut corners and go with a great price point (which Vortex has in spades) but if you shoot more than a .270, the compromise may cost you a lot more than you think.

Their customer service and warranty repairs department are very responsive, but they can't make this scope something it just isn't. If you have a lot invested in your hunt, stick with a known quantity like Zeiss, Burris or Leupold.
