I bought this to help keep my scope level. I used this at the same time I used the Wheeler Scope Leveling Tool. After getting the all three levels centered I tightened this one on the scope and removed the Wheeler levels. I left this on my M&P 15 to make sure the scope stays level after several series of rapid fire at the range. It's a little bigger than I thought it would be but other than that it works perfectly.
Good aid in keeping a scope zeroed and avoiding canting your rifle.,

My reason for mounting this on my AR was to aid in sighting in with a good, level reticle. Combined with other levels, I can make sure my scope, flat top receiver and barrel are all on the same plane to avoid the ill effects of misalignment on accuracy. I may or may not leave it on for shooting but it is definitely a help in zeroing.
