This sight receives consitently good reviews, both on the sites it is sold on and independent weapon forums. I have the one with the "AR" type high mounts, which went I put on the Colt/Uramax .22 AR-15 clone I have. The sight itself seems to be well made and it is easy to adjust. While bigger then an eotech, it is half the cost as well and just as easy to shoot and acquire the dot. You can choose either red or green dot with just a push of a button. Brightness adjustment is easy as well. Comes with a 2x doubler, but I don't think I will ever actually use it. The being said the unit itself is a good enough value as it is without the doubler. The unit also has an auto shut off feature which comes in very handy. Although I haven't had to use it, most rate the customer service of the manufacturer as top notch. I would recommend it.

I bought a Strikefire to put on a new S&W M&P 15-22 rifle that I bought to use as a training tool to teach my wife on so that she would be using something that works the same as my M&P 15 with an Aimpoint compC3 sight. The rifle had to go back to S&W (twice) and the Strikefire had to go back to Vortex once. The dot on my sight was not nearly bright enough and when I called Vortex, they said they had a few with that problem. They paid for the shipping and a new one was back to me in no time. Wish I could have said the same for the rifle. Both are back now and re-united. I couldn't be happier. This little combo is quickly becoming my favoite toy. Although the sight still isn't as bright as my Aimpoint, it still is about as bright as the Aimpoint is on setting 9 of 10. As far as those who complain about the on/off button on the side, I have found it not to be a problem. Yes it can be accidentaly bumped on but it comes on at the same setting as it was turned off at. Considering that I have paid more for dot scopes and have been less than satisfied I would highly reccomend this scope as it does what a dot scope was made to do and more. |
