Weaver No-Gunsmith Converta Shotgun Mount - Mossberg 500, 835 (12 Gauge Only) Gloss Black

I put this on my Mossberg Maverick 88, to hold a red dot sight. On the Maverick 88, this secures in 2 places. One through the rear punch pin, which you replace with a bolt to hold the mount. And one closer to the front, you replace a screw with one provided so you can tighten it down.

It feels very solid and won't move.

I had this installed in less than 5 minutes. It snapped right into place... a nice tight fit. You just replace a pin and a small screw that comes with it and it's installed. It left no trace of any scratch marks when installing it, as opposed to the heavy metal ones. Just make sure you have your weapon unloaded (with the slide back) and secured in an upside down when installing this, and you'll have no problems installing it yourself in no time.

I was hesitant at first about purchasing this due to the polymer composite material... thought it may warp or crack. But, it held up very nicely at the range with full 00 buck loads. I have this mounted on my tactical Maverick 88 with a red dot reflex sight, along with a few other necessities... and this mount is half the weight of its metal cousin. This product being plastic material is very rigid and lightweight which to me is a plus, and not having to worry about scratches on ones receiver as well. It includes all parts necessary to install and includes detailed instructions which I found pleasant. After installment it does not budge and supports my red dot sight well. Great addition for the price to my Mossberg 500, five stars. Thank you.
